You receive information that the US might be under nuclear attack. You have five minutes to decide if this is a false alarm or a real threat. The clock is ticking. What do you do?

This interactive game, produced by Playmatics, PRI, the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM), and N Square, takes you through a series of nuclear decisions which confront policy makers and other Americans over the course of several years. Each decision relates to real-world policy issues that affect the level of global nuclear risk. You’ll have access to factual information and advisers with different perspectives to help you navigate each decision. The game begins with a crisis scenario that represents some of risks posed by current US policies. After going through the subsequent decisions, you will encounter another crisis scenario that reflects the choices you've made throughout the game.

Enjoy the game. Although this is a simulation, it gets at issues that our news programs cover every day. To see some of our coverage of these issues, visit our Nuclear Family series and our other Global Security stories.
